Basically, there are , generally, Dynasty Warriors 1 to 6. There are just some other games added for other consoles other than Playstations and XBOX like Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance, PSP and PC (For PC, mostly they are demos, which usually don't work...) Extreme Legends are expansions of the Original Versions, and you need to buy both discs to play, somehow. On the other hand, Empires does not require the original version, although it contains some new stuff and removed many stuff from the original game. Edit mode and Empire mode are some new and interesting modes- Edit allows you to create your own charactor while in Empire mode, you rule your own country and conquer neighbouring countries to unite China. You can edit lots of stuff in this game too, as if there's a game editor software in it. A very good thing about it is that you can play ALL the characters in the game. You can even play 'non-officers' for example, Yue Jin, Hua Xiong, Ma Dai and Han Dang. Things that are musou mode, challenge, etc. All the maps for the stages are very small, and the time limit is 30minutes. I would say it is quite boring. I would recommend Extreme Legends than Empires.
