Additions Of Playable Characters

The Characters in Dynasty Warriors 1:
Featuring only 16 playable characters, with an addition of Nobunago Oda and Touckichi, which does not belong in Dynasty Warriors.
New Characters in Dynasty Warriors 2:
As you can see, 14 new characters were added, which made the game much more interesting, with a total of 28 playable characters, since Nobunaga Oda and Touchiki were removed(they should be).
New Characters in Dynasty Warriors 3:
13 characters were added now, which made the gameplay much nicer with Zhang He, Pang Tong, Sun Ce and the Qiao sisters, making a total of 41 playable chracters. Fu Xi and Nu Wa came from a Chinese legend and also do not belong in Dynasty Warriors, still, Nu Wa was quite a good character to use, although without musou mode.
New Characters in Dynasty Warriors 4:
For this game, only 3 new characters have been added, taking the total playable characters to 42(removing Fu Xi and Nu Wa). One new character has been added to each of the three kingdoms: Cao Ren from Wei, Zhou Tai from Wu and Yue Ying from Shu. All of the above characters have average attacks, movesets and stats but still, it is worth playing due to its other improvements.
New Characters in Dynasty Warriors 5:
There's also just 6 new characters added to this game, together with all the characters in Dynasty Warriors 4, adding up to 48 playable characters, making the game to have the largest cast of playable characters. Zuo Ci was a rather good character, in terms of attack damage and moveset. Ling Tong was very fast in moving and attacks. Guan Ping and Xing Cai were average, but Pang De was rather bad- Hes speed is horribly slow(slower than Xu Zhu!) and his attacks were very weak, although his War Picks looks powerful.
Removed Characters in Dynasty Warriors 6:
Yes, NO characters are added and 7 were removed from the game( I hope they will add them in the next sequel). At least 41 playable characters return from the previous game. Jiang Wei, Xing Cai, Pang De, Da Qiao, Zuo Ci, Meng Huo and Zhu Rong are completely cut. These characters are non-playable and they are not mentioned at all, through-out the entire game, with the exception of Xing Cai, who is mentioned in Lu Bu's last cut scene (as "the daughter of Zhang Fei"), Da Qiao who is mentioned in Xiao Qiao's biography in the encyclopedia, and Jiang Wei who is mentioned in the "Collapse of Shu" in the encyclopedia. I hope Jiang wei returns, because he is known to be the 'successor' of Zhuge Liang, but Zhuge Liang find him good in strategies after all.

Yeah I just hope that the 7 characters would return(Meng Huo and Zhu Rong returned in Empires after all :)) and more characters would be made playable.

Image:Dynasty Warriors Coverart.pngDynasty Warriors for Playstation. Nobody plays this game or even uses Playstation now... Very poor graphics and the game is totally boring if you would want to play it today, but I do not know if it's considered good or bad in the past.
Dynasty Warriors 2 game imageDynasty Warriors 2, the first Dynasty Warriors game for Playstation 2. This game was a total re-make from the previous game, which was a one-on-one fight like Street Fighters. In this whole new game, it's full 3D and no longer one-on-one: we go onto the field and kill the enemies! Still, the graphics and gameplay, of course, are rather poor compared to the new series nowadays.
Image:Dynasty Warriors 3 Coverart.pngDynasty Warriors 3, still for PS2, with an addition of a version for XBOX. A much improved game from the previous game, at least in terms of graphics. The 3D 'effect' now is a lot better, and it is still an acceptable game, even now with the Dynasty Warriors 6 with those awesome graphics. It's the first game that allows two play gameplay, and I think it's also the only game with player vs. player for PS2, PS3 and XBOX, since Dynasty Warriors 5 and 6 does not have it. This game has many new stages, weapons and attack. The BGM has improved too. This game is also the first one to have an Extreme Legends expansion, and the expansion really made the game better.
Dynasty Warriors 4, for Playstation 2 and XBOX. The graphics have slightly improved from Dynasty Warriors 3, but has only some changes. The greatest change is the characters' costumes, which are similar to those in Dynasty Warriors 5. The other change is that the attacks and other gameplay stuff has changed, like you no longer have any bodyguard, which is bad, but now, you can ride on any horse without falling off (In DW3, if your rank is too low, you can't ride some horses), and you can unmount without stopping your horse. This is also the first game to have Empires, which also introduced the base system in battle.

Dynasty Warriors 5, last of the series on PS2 and XBOX. As I said earlier on, minor changes have been made from Dynasty Warriors 5. The 3 changes I can list out are only addition of characters, base system added on original game and a little improved graphics(at least much better compared to DW3). The mode which is new is Camp, but it only allows you to inspect unlocked items, bodyguards and officers. Oh yes! The bodyguards are back, and better! At least the game would be much more interesting with people protecting you, especially when you face dangerous warriors like Lu Bu. Dynasty Warriors 5 also has Extreme Legends and Empires. In Extreme Legends, an awesome mode is added: Destiny Mode. There, you will customize your own character, and play using it like in Musou Mode, only that you can change the story, YOU decide everything for that character!
Dynasty Warriors 6, for the brand new PS3 and for the XBOX360 instead of the old XBOX. Just from the image above, you can see that the graphics have significantly improved to an excellent 3D graphics. The game has totally changed from Dynasty Warriors 5, and is a new start of the Dynasty Warriors series(people may think it's what players say, but I think KOEI also want a new start of the series, since the game has already reached '6'. The costumes of the characters has totally changed(I find them rather modern and fantasy), most of them has new weapons, new RENBU attack system, skill tree system, able to find horses, like Dynasty Warriors ZHEN Vol.2 for PSP, etc. Things that are removed are items that characters used to carry to battle in Dynasty Warriors 3-5, bodyguards are once again removed and musou rage is gone, but comes the Special Skills to replace them like True Speed, Volley, Rockfall, Fire, etc. The only bad thing is that a couple of characters are removed from this game. Even though many players including myself complained that this game should not go through such major change, it's still enjoyable and I find the musou mode much better, at least the story is dramatic :) Anyway there's already an Empires for this and I think the Extreme Legends should come out soon.

I gues I'll just stop here!

The Game Series: Dynasty Warriors 1-6

THE LIST OF GAMES
Basically, there are , generally, Dynasty Warriors 1 to 6. There are just some other games added for other consoles other than Playstations and XBOX like Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance, PSP and PC (For PC, mostly they are demos, which usually don't work...) Extreme Legends are expansions of the Original Versions, and you need to buy both discs to play, somehow. On the other hand, Empires does not require the original version, although it contains some new stuff and removed many stuff from the original game. Edit mode and Empire mode are some new and interesting modes- Edit allows you to create your own charactor while in Empire mode, you rule your own country and conquer neighbouring countries to unite China. You can edit lots of stuff in this game too, as if there's a game editor software in it. A very good thing about it is that you can play ALL the characters in the game. You can even play 'non-officers' for example, Yue Jin, Hua Xiong, Ma Dai and Han Dang. Things that are musou mode, challenge, etc. All the maps for the stages are very small, and the time limit is 30minutes. I would say it is quite boring. I would recommend Extreme Legends than Empires.
